Happy Monday!

Only two more weeks of school until Christmas break! Woohoo! My hubby and I both take the kid's Christmas break off so it's really wonderful long stretch of family time that I desperately crave the entire rest of the year.

Mark and I are going on an overnight date again since he got a free hotel certificate from work and it has to be used by December 30th. With all the stress around here from the remodel etc,. We need it. We'll be gone Saturday night.

There's someone at church who doesn't like the way I sing. The problem is, he's a member of our group. He keeps making these little comments about my song choice or who would sound better singing the song or whatever. Normally, anything this person said would not even bother to go in one ear and out the other I just ignore him, but this is really bothering me. No one (except my dad and that's a whole other story) has ever made me feel badly about my voice. This is pretty shattering to an already low self confidence in this area these days. It makes me not want to sing at all.

Off to wake up the kiddos. They just LOVE Monday mornings!

I don't think he doesn't like the way you sing. I think it is just his lame attempt at humor and he probably doesn't even realize it hurts your feelings. And anyway, think about what ML said yesterday afternoon. Focus on the positive. I love your voice and so do lots of people, probably including him, but I think since you teased him about his, he was attempting to tease you about yours. At least that's how I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. Otherwise, I will have to smack him.

I would like to believe that, but it's just the latest in a series of little thing he says that lead me to believe this. And he doesn;t say them directly to me as if he were joking. he says them in conversation to others. I have been trying to focus on the positive, but I'm already having difficulty in this area.

Hmmm...I heard Karin in one one of the movies singing, and weren't you the other one singing? I thought you both sounded great!

My grandma always said that the people who like to cut you down are the people who are envious of you.

I'm sorry to hear that this man is upsetting you so. I know how hard is is to have someone act this way it is so hard to consently ignore them. (((hugs)))

How fun for you and Mark where are you going?

Man is a very interesting adjective to use in this scenerio.

I don't know that he's saying things to be hurtful. I do know that he is a dumb boy.

You are a wonderful singer. If it weren't for you and Karin, our little side show would fail. Misserably. (or however you spell that) I love you. I love your voice. Don't change. (ok, that last line sounded like i just signed your yearbook)

Janet, Mark and I are going all the way to ...Tempe!lol! The certificate is good for a particular hotel chain and the one in scottsdale didn't have availability for this weekend. We also got some gift certificates to Carver's in the mail so we'll be doing dinner and a movie as well and then I'll see if I can't get him to take me to IKEA and Arizona Mills on Sunday.
As for the rest of you, thank you for your kind words. I dealt with it in the way I felt most comfortable and was feeling much better last night and then, as Karin said, I let some good zingers fly last night so, all is well!
