Heartbreak

The hardest, very hardest, part of being a mom is seeing your kids in pain, especially when you can't do one thing about it. My boy's heart is hurting. Through some mixed up wacky crap with her family, his girlfriend is moving. Today. She was supposed to be here through the end of the summer, but her parents took her out to dinner LAST NIGHT and said they were leaving TODAY. My boy woke me up at 11:15 crying his heart out and asked me if I would take him over to her house to say goodbye. I couldn't refuse him. I haven't seen this boy cry in at least 3 years. It broke my heart. I want to be able to make it all better for him, but there's no way to do that. It's one of those things you have to suffer through, but I remember being 15 and how painful these kind of things were. This sucks.

You said it so well. You can't make it better for him, but you did the most important thing you could do by letting him say goodbye. Poor guy. Tell him we're all thinking about him and hurting for him.

It's so hard, when you can't do anything to make their pain go away. Taking him to see her one last time was a great thing to do.
