TGIF

I am so happy it's Friday! Sort of. It's generations weekend so that bites a little. Mark's leaving to go out of town tomorrow morning. That bites a lot. I have a terrible time sleeping when he's gone along with missing him a lot. FE is going on a camping trip with his grandpa as well and since the Teenager doesn't spend much weekend time here, it looks like just me and the girls! We're going to go to the movies tomorrow and take one of SB's friends. I'm sure there will be shopping involved as well!

I'm so tired today. Mark is the president of the board for our school and they had their monthly meeting last night. It was 1 AM before he got home. The 6:00 alarm comes awfully early when you don't get to sleep on time. Add this to the fact that he has to be at the airport at 6:30 tomorrow morning. I hope I can sleep in on Sunday!

Have a great weekend!

I'm still trying to figure out what they do until 1 am...lol! Anyway, generations weekends are never very restful are they? Oh well, I got my hair done today and I feel much better :)

Karin, you have no idea. Honestly, Mark spends about 30-50 hours a week on stuff for the school without getting paid for it and while trying to already to his regular 50-80 hour a week job. They do everything that would typically be done on a district level at another school. They do the stategic planning, personnel issues such as evaluations of the two administators, budgeting, insurance, safety, dealing with parental complaints that are not solved at the principal's level. They oversee and run the school. It's a huge responsibility.

My old school is the same way - but I never heard of a board meeting lasting until 1 am...that was why I was so surprised. Then again, a parent actually being the president of the board at my old school will probably never happen because god forbid the management board give up that much control. Maybe that's the difference!
