What I Did For Love
Anyone who knows me well knows I am a major Diet Dr. Pepper fiend. To the tune of around a six pack a day. It's a bad habit, I know, but it's one I had no desire to break. Until yesterday. The teenager had been telling me to stop drinking diet soda for a while because it was bad for me, but I ignored him, like a good mother should. Yesterday, he came home from school armed with documentation, valid or not, of research indicating that aspartame has been linked to brain tumors. This in itself may or may not have been enough to make me think about stopping. It was when he said "Please stop drinking diet soda Mom. I don't want you to get a brain tumor." What could I do? I stopped. I haven't had a soda since yesterday afternoon. I've made some herbal tea and am drinking that like crazy, but no more diet soda will cross these lips.

who's going to drink the Diet Dr. Pepper today?
Yeah I try to avoid all those fake sweeteners if possible. The last 40 days they saved me though! And there's always regular Dr. Pepper. Sugar is bad for you too, but in different ways. It doesn't seem fair does it? Good luck on that!
Ummm...not me or my kids! Sorry!
I won't drink regular soda. i refuse to spend 150 calories on a drink.
Anyway, the point really was that my son asked me to stop something becuase he was really worried about me. and I did.
Good for you.
