Where we've been all night

What holiday would be complete without a visit to the ER? The kiddos were on the trampoline this afternoon when we heard a blood curdling pair of screams. Mark was actually in the back yard, but not looking that direction. SB and FE were screaming like you've never heard. I saw the blood on SB right away because it was on her mouth. I didn't see FE because Mark had a towel to his FE's head. He looked directly at me and in a super calm voice said "We're going to need to go to the hospital".
I ran in, put on shoes. Grabbed clothes for FE and shoes for Mark, called my mom said "Come now, we're taking FE to the ER." The girls were still crying, but SB was no longer bleeding, so I told then Nonnie would be here in 5 minutes, kissed them both and we left.
What happened? SB's teeth went right into FE's head. You could see the imprint of her tooth line. When we got to the ER, they wrapped his head right away to stop the bleeding. Then we waited a bit. They called us back and decided that it was going to need stitches. DUH! But it was also going to need to be cleaned extremely well since it was a human bite and those are more susceptible to infection. So, numbing jelly which didn't work and then numbing shots into his head. He was the bravest best boy! The nurses and doctor were sooo impressed with him! After the area was numb and cleaned up, he got 7 stitches in his head. He's also on super strength antibiotics because it is a human bite. We've just gotten home after about 4 hours in the ER. What a day!

Oh, my goodness. :(
Poor little guy. I'm glad he was so brave, I can't even imagine the pain.
