Back to the grind...

Vacation is over. We packed a lot in to the week though and had lots of fun. For the next five weeks I have two extra day care kids. I have them every summer for some amount of time. They are good kids and they are in the same classes as SB and FE so it's fun for them to have friends here.

The teenager went off to work today! Karin's Mike needed an extra hand as his two normal workers are not available this week so he asked the teenager. It was almost like sending the kiddo off to his first day of school!

Mark and I saw Pirates this weekend. I will only say two things...

1) I was not as impressed as many others seem to be

2) seems like a whole heck of a lot of people do not care what kind of images their very young children live with in their precious minds. SB was just allowed to watch the first one on Saturday and she's 11. She will not be seeing the new one as it is far darker and I don't think she needs to see those images when she closes her eyes. Think about it people! The move is rated PG-13 for a reason!

I am scrapbooking this weekend. That means this week I need to get my stuff together! I haven't yet figured out what to work on though...

Yep, I totally agree with not letting your kids watch certain movies. I remember when Titanic came out I was teaching kindergarten and half the class was talking about it because they had seen it. I do not get that. But the one time that Mike practically had to hold me back from getting in a stupid parent's face was when I saw a 4 (or so) year old at a movie called Kiss the Girls which was about a serial killer and seriously one of the most disturbing movies I've ever seen. WHY would you take your kid to see that? WHY????

I read Kiss the Girls and therefore never saw the movie, but I can imagine! Mark and I went to see Dracula when it was out about 10 years ago. Vile, bloody movie and it was a late show, like 10 PM or so and these people had their 3 year old there! WTF? Come on people. If you can't get a sitter wait for the video/DVD!
