How My Brain Works
Okay, anyone who knows me in real life knows that I have an awfully hard time with my kids getting older. Tonight SB is at the Welcoming Party for the Junior High youth group at our church. it's just a chance for the 6th graders to meet teachers and see what goes on before they officially start next school year. So, this is hard for me, but this is what ran through my brain all the way home from church.
"I can't believe SB is going into 7th grade oh my gawd the teenager is going to be a senior next year there are only 6 weeks of school left that means 30 school days until Sb is in junior high 30 days of school left oh my gawd that means the princess only has 12 days of school left oh my gawd 12 days until my baby is not in preschool anymore they are all getting so grown up soon they'll all move out what am i going to do when they move out I miss my babies" and on and on and on...Someone help me...

Probably the person who was freaking out because her two year old was dangling her legs in the pool with her father sitting right next to her is not the person to help you. Maybe Bernadette has some words of wisdom. All I can give you are *hugs*.
My mom promises some words of wisdom come morning time. Right now she's dealing with *her* baby who needs help batheing right now because she's down one arm.
Words of wisdom? Who knows, but...you are swimming in the wonderful feelings of motherhood. I wouldn't change mine for the world. The feelings of success come to us in many different forms. One form is through our children. I use the word success because I see my children as happy, confident, and well rounded children. (Mom's are allowed to boast!) My four girls are the result of my hard work, many tears shed and still to be shed, did I mention hard work.
Just think, you get to go through kindergarden again and you will finally graduate and not have to repeat it for the 6th time! Its amazing how it will take you 6 times to successfully complete each grade in school, but you do it with class and stand proud at the end of each school year.
I'm beginning to think that they never move away! My 21 year old baby has no clue what a suitcase looks like other than to use mine to go to Japan! Ok, I'll be honest....David and I tease a lot about the 3 oldest being over 18 and need to move out, but we are going to miss them terribly when they do finally leave.
All my girls still need a "mommy hug" periodically just like they did when they were 2. This is something I hope never changes.
