He surely did not inherit this from me!

Metabolism that is.

For dinner last night I made yummy mini meatloaves. They have lots of cheese in them and a sweet bbq sauce on top. My kids LOVE them, as do Mark and I and, believe me, I am NOT a meatloaf kind of girl!
I used a little over 2 pounds of ground beef because I wanted to have enough to use for lunch today and the teenager wasn't home for dinner so i thought I would be safe. WRONG! The 2 pounds of meat made 10 mini loaves, so a little over 3 ounces each. One was enough for me, although they are so good that Mark and I split another one. So, got that? The adults each ate about 4.5 ounces of meat. We also had mashed potatoes and broccoli and pineapple. FE ate ll of that stuff as well, but he ate 4, yes 4!, of the meat loaves. 4! Over 12 ounces of meat in his 8 year old body. And, about an hour later? He ate 2 scoops of ice cream! And this kid is not, by any stretch of the imagination, overweight. He is tall, but thin. I cannot begin to imagine where he put all of that food. My fear is that he's getting ready to get even taller because this morning, after his monster feast last night? He's sound asleep. And he's my early rise, usually up at 6 no matter what, so this is highly unusual. I don't know how we'll afford to feed him as a teenager if this is how he eats at 8!!!

In other news, it's GIRL'S NIGHT! Some friends and I are heading out for dinner and a movie tonight and I'm so excited! I love being with my family, but it's fun to not have to be the mommy sometimes as well!

What is it with boys and food? lol! At this rate, he might end up taller than the Teenager. Yikes!

When I told Mike I was going out, he was really excited for me. Makes me think I have NO life...teehee!

wow... Zach doesn't eat meat :( ugh... he says "mom I don't want to eat anything that was alive" sigh... he will however eat chicken strips and I tell him that chicken are alive and he said "oh, they don't count"... the kid eats TONS of cheese though. Mac and cheese, grilled cheese, quesadilla's... I'd love it if he would eat meat though!
Marlene, can you send me the recipe for those mini meat loaves??? Thanks!
