What do YOU think??

When she was in 2nd grade, over 4 years ago, SB asked me if she could get a second piercing in her ears. At that point, because it seemed so far away and I thought she'd forget, I told her that she could after she finished 6th grade. Well, guess what? We've reached that time. And she totally remembers. And asked the day after school got out.

Her dad won't even talk to me about it as he's really struggling with his baby girl growing up anyway and I think this is just another sign to him that she's not so much a baby anymore.

I don't have double piercings, but I'm not adverse to them. I just really don't want to open up a can of worms with piercings. Because I will not let her get her belly button or any facial features pierced (not that she's asked). And I know plenty of people MY age have double piercings, but the who piercing of other body parts was not en vogue when I was younger.

So, I guess I'm asking if you have an opinion on whether or not this is a good idea, if she's too young, if it's harmless...Not at all saying I'll take your advice, just curious!lol!

I was about her age when I got my second hole. If you have them done, be sure to do above the current one. The first set of second homes ripped out. I was sleeping, so I didn't feel a thing nor did I bled, but I have scars down both ears.

I was her age when my mom let me get my second set. The parents ALWAYS made it extremely clear that there would be no more while in their house and under 18. (they did eventually let me get one cartalidge).

My dad had a problem with it of course. He hated us getting our first set.

But he got over it. It's one of those things i'm sure every daddy has to deal with.

I was about her age when I got my second hole. As I remember my father was not pleased, but he let my mother "handle it"!

It was the end of the world for David when each of our daughters got their first hole. I wanted to pierce their ears when they were newborn, but David didn't and he won that round. The girls were in middle school when they got their second hole, and the bear hasn't asked for one .... yet.

I was finally able to convince David that we needed to choose our battles. I believed that the better battle to fight would be if they wanted any other type of body art. After a while, the second hole was almost forgotten. My girls have done just what I did and that is sometimes I wear errings and sometimes I don't!

I had my 2nd holes done in high school... my best friend did one and I did the other later in a salon. I NEVER use them anymore... and they have, for the most part, closed up. I have no advice other than better she does it with your permission now than perhaps do it (or let a friend do it!) some other time! :)
