Bipolar much? And the most rambling post Evah!
I got a call from my Dr.'s office today. The referral coordinator was able to get me a retroactive authorization for my PT. Thank goodness! I know she thought I was crazy last week after I spent hours on the phone with her, the insurance, the PT people, trying to figure out why this all broke down. And by the time I begged her to try to get a retro-auth I was sobbing over the craziness of it. When she called to give me the good news, I was so happy and thanked her profusely. I'm sure I'll get a call from the Dr. any day now about some bipolar meds!lol!
It's been a normal crazy week here and getting crazier. Last night I had four kids needing to be four places all at once. Luckily I needed to be someplace with one of them. The Princess had her RE class and I had to work at the pumpkin patch, so that worked out pretty well. Not to mention that my BFF came and worked with me and donated her hours to SB! All of the concerts (slinging beer for Jesus) and the pumpkin patch stuff is to earn money for our youth to go to National Catholic Youth Conference next November. Basically, the church fundraises and your family works hours at the fundraisers to pay for your trip. It's actually a lot of fun doing the work, but it just adds more to our busy schedule!
In the "reasons I love my husband's job category", earlier this week Mark was offered 4 FREE tickets to see Amy Grant in concert. I had sort of wanted to go, but was not going to spend the money (concerts are outrageous these days!), but my BFF wanted to go REALLY badly, and it's her birthday this weekend! So, when Mark was offered the tickets, we jumped on them. So tonight Karin, Mark, SB and I are headed to that show.
Tomorrow Mark is headed to hike the Grand Canyon with his dad and brother, and I'm headed out for some chocolate martinis and girl talk with some good friends.
Saturday FE has a game and I have a dance to put together and chaperon for the 7th and 8th graders.
Sunday Snow Queen rehearsal and hopefully a NAP!! before the madness starts all over again on Monday!
I was just thinking yesterday about how full the fall is, how may things there are going on. and then I continued thinking and realized that it doesn't really slow down ever. And I don't necessarily mind that. I think that many of the things we do are building a future and memories for our children (okay, not the chocolate martinis, but they make Mama happy and you know the saying!lol!) and there's not anything I am willing to give up. I want to take care of the dance and graduation, I want to be home room mom, watch FE play football, watch the girls dance, spend time going to late night movies with Bubba even though I am exhausted, see my friends, date my husband, help my church, etc. The time goes so fast. My boy is leaving in 3 months. Right now he's scheduled to be gone for 5 months, but that could change in a heartbeat. The time from when he was born to now feels like the blink of an eye. I don't want to miss any of the remaining time with him or any of my family or friends. Life is too short.

Well I'm glad they got the stupid authorization worked out. Thank goodness for retroactivity...lol!
Pumpkin Patch was fun! Let me know if you need me to help you again - but only if I get to run the cash register...teehee! ;) And I totally think we need Navy Boy there with us again. ;)
And yay for Amy Grant. I totally owe Mark bigtime for that one...lol! I got free tickets to the Heart in Motion tour many years ago when I worked at the radio station. It was so cool! There is nothing quite as exciting as getting free tickets at almost the last minute!
I only wish I could partake of a chocolate martini so I could see what the fuss is...hahahaha!
And yeah, the time goes way too fast. I know I only have one kid to shuttle around and she only has one activity going on so far, but I can't imagine missing out on watching her! Sometimes I get a little hermit-like, but last night made me realize how fun it is to get out and hang out! (And it didn't hurt that the weather was absolutely perfect last night, either.) I can't imagine how fast 18 years feels. I'm still amazed at how fast 4 years feels. When we're kids we want time to hurry hurry hurry, but it feels like an eternity and when we're adults, we just want it to slow down so we can savor every moment, and it feels like the blink of an eye. I don't know if that's God's sense of humor or his way of reminding us to stop and smell the roses. Your post is a good reminder to hang on tight to those we love and don't sweat the small stuff.
See you in a few hours. Yay!! :D
Hope you had a blast at the concert, how very cool for Mark to get free tickets~
