It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

And in order to not miss a moment, I'm signing off. Maybe I'll be back after the first of the year, but I don't know. The computer sucks up so much of my time and I'm feeling done with that for now.
So, to all three of my loyal readers, you know how to find me outside of this box.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Some Things are Sacred...

My favorite religious Christmas song is Oh Holy Night (or O' Holy Night if you prefer). I love this song. I love to sing it, I love to hear it, except right now...The all Christmas music all the time station here in town is playing some twangy country version that is HORRIBLE. Now, I like a lot of country music, so I'm not bashing country or twangy music or voices. But I don't want to hear Oh Holy Night that way! It's just wrong!

Christmas Wishes

My eldest daughter has asked for very little for Christmas. Some new pajamas, a new blanket, some fun socks, Happy Potter Scene It, this, and this stupid game which apparently is ALL the rage as I cannot find one for a reasonable price. Anywhere. I can find it at ebay for $50 and some other spots online are selling it for $90. A toy that retails for somewhere between $30 and $40. I just won't spend that much. I'm hoping that there will be more available for her birthday in January so she can have it then, but I hate disappointing her when she really has asked for so little and this was what she REALLY wanted. So, anyone local? If you happen to see this while you are out, PLEASE grab it for me!! You'll make a little girl very happy.

YUM!! (Don't read this Janet!)

I only told Janet not to read because she's doing the South Beach thing and I didn't want to make her crazy!lol!

My kiddos talked me into buying this and Oh.My.Gosh. it is so yummy! Mark thought it tasted like Lucky Charms which I can kind of see, but it's way gooey and so good! Run, don't walk to buy some and pretend it's for your kiddos!

Happy Monday!

Only two more weeks of school until Christmas break! Woohoo! My hubby and I both take the kid's Christmas break off so it's really wonderful long stretch of family time that I desperately crave the entire rest of the year.

Mark and I are going on an overnight date again since he got a free hotel certificate from work and it has to be used by December 30th. With all the stress around here from the remodel etc,. We need it. We'll be gone Saturday night.

There's someone at church who doesn't like the way I sing. The problem is, he's a member of our group. He keeps making these little comments about my song choice or who would sound better singing the song or whatever. Normally, anything this person said would not even bother to go in one ear and out the other I just ignore him, but this is really bothering me. No one (except my dad and that's a whole other story) has ever made me feel badly about my voice. This is pretty shattering to an already low self confidence in this area these days. It makes me not want to sing at all.

Off to wake up the kiddos. They just LOVE Monday mornings!

One Year Ago...

One year ago today I was helping out in my younger son's kindergarten class oblivious to anything in the outside world. As he went to half-day K he got out at 11AM. There were two messages on my cell when we got to the van. Both from Mike. One saying "We're at the hospital. Get here as soon as you can"(I had been supposed to be in the delivery room when Baby Girl was born) and another saying that Baby Girl had already been born. I called Mike right away and found out that I could come in even though Baby Girl was so early. I called my sister-in-law to watch the kiddos and raced to the hospital. I ran in and saw Karin and Mike and stood there impatiently for all of about 30 seconds(you know the baby is the important one here!) before I asked to see my baby. Mike took me to see her and there...Oh my....There was the absolute tiniest baby I had ever seen. So little, so fragile, so amazing.
I've watched that tiny fragile little thing grow into a gorgeous healthy almost toddler. Amazing how fast a year goes. From tiny and helpless to a microphone eating, peekaboo playing, "blah, blah, blah" saying big girl.
Happy Birthday my darling goddaughter. You are a blessing. I love you!

Just in case...

You ever wondered if The Princess was REALLY a Princess, I offer Exhibit A...She has worn this dress All.Week.Long. taking it off only if we need to go somewhere and then only because it will not fit in the car seat.

I think

I have an ulcer. I just have this sharp burning pain in my stomach that gets worse when I eat or am under stress, which this week is constant. Between that and my back, which although my back is mostly better, if I sit for any length of time, getting up is excruciating(this does not work so well since I spend three hours a day minimum driving) I feel not so good.

My countertops is coming tomorrow. The kitchen will be done except for a few minor things like new blinds and some paint and a couple more lights for the track lighting and we are painting the refrigerator. Hopefully we'll be able to get it all done before Christmas. My bathroom, on the other hand, is not coming along so well. My shower has now been out of commission for 3 weeks. Hopefully it'll be finished next week but I'm still not sure.

The Social Butterfly is "flying" as a cheerleader now. Yikes! She goes to competition next week. I haven't seen her fly yet. It really makes me nervous so I'm waiting until I really can't do anything but watch(at competition) to see it.

I got some more Christmas shopping done this morning. I got an email this morning from Toys 'R Us with a coupon for a Karaoke machine that is normally $129 for $29.99. The girls are getting it as a joint gift. They will both love it!

I'm off to pick up a kiddo...If I can stand up!
