Okay...

I know said I was leaving, and maybe I still am, but I had to brag for a moment!lol!

It's school conference time around these parts. The teenager doesn't have a conference, but did I mention that he has a 3.8 GPA??? Woohoo!
SB and FE had brilliant straight A report cards and both of their teachers said "Ummm...We don't have anything to say except that your children are great, so let's not do a conference this time." Fine with me. I mean I like to sit and listen to people brag on my kids as much as the next person, but it usually is a pretty pointless experience to drive to the school and spend 15 minutes waiting for the person in front of me to be finished(because I'm always behind the parent who feels the need to give the teacher their kid's entire life story!) and then spend 3 minutes listening to the teacher go on and on about how wonderful the kids are before she asks if I have any questions.(teachers usually catch up on their schedules when it's my conference time!)

Anyway, today was The princess' conference. I really didn't know what to expect. I know the Princess LOVES school and she has fun and she's been learning, but what was the teacher going to say??? Well, The Princess has already mastered every skill they are looking for in preschool, naturally since she's brilliant and also older!) but the thing she said that made me the most proud? What a kind and loving little girl the Princess is. She is so impressed with the Princess. She talked about how she is kind and plays with everyone and gets along so well. She said it's really amazing because, in particular at this age, the kids tell on each other all the time, but NO ONE has ever told her anything about the Princess. That's my girl. Sweet, kind, funny and brilliant. I knew it.

One More Thing Before I Go...

A shout out to an ASU Sun Devil who thinks she's visiting in anonymity!
Hello A!

So Long, Farewell...

My days of blogging are over. Short lived as it was, I'm moving on.

I've got some people really doing an excellent job of trying to make things miserable for me. But through that? I realized how many really great friends I have, outside of this box. People who are calling to check on me, people who are caring for and watching out for my children, praying for me in the school parking lot, inviting me to prayer groups and breakfast and coffee. My phone has not stopped ringing. This morning, because of incidents the last two days, there was a group of 5 moms and a dad waiting for me in front of my son's classroom. Waiting there just to wait with me until the kids went in, to make sure nothing happened and I was okay. Last night there was a call from a teacher who said if I needed to come in her room to hide or talk or if I wanted her to come outside and stand with me in the morning she would! A friend called yesterday and said to get her a game schedule because she was coming to sit with me at every game from now on. These are people with busy lives. With children in school and activities. But, they are willing to make sure that I'm okay. That no one gets near me or has the opportunity to hurt me or my children. They aren't telling me just to not let these people get to me because they've seen the havoc being caused by these people and the real hurt and stress it's causing me. These are the kind of relationships that I need to make time for, that I need to nurture. So, I will. I am. I'm through talking to a box.

I've never been so glad for a Monday!

Today has to be more restful than my weekend was! We had a great time all weekend long, but I am beat. I have to finish the Princess' costume and get going on SB's. I won't be around until that is done, but I'm anxious to tell you all about the fun wedding! Incentive to work harder on the costumes!

Have a great day!!

Hooray for Weekends!

I am so glad it's Friday. I had a nasty run-in with some even nastier people at the football game yesterday. I was verbally attacked. It's being dealt with, but my heart is pretty well broken right now. To say the attack was unprovoked would be an understatement. That's all I'll say.

Tonight is a fun birthday celebration for my good friend! We'll be eating creme brulee! So there!
Tomorrow morning I'll be singing with same friend at an interesting event! It's a paid gig so I love that. It's always fun to get paid for something you like to do anyway! Tomorrow night is the wedding we've all been looking forward to and Sunday, after Mark and I hike, we're going with my father-in-law to watch an air show! Busy weekend, but lots of fun stuff!

Hope you all enjoy your weekend!

Poor Mark!

So as I mentioned yesterday, there was a problem at Mark's work. Mark is the Vice-President of the company he works for, but the President really only works part time and Mark runs the building. He's been there for over 16 years now. Anyway, he worked yesterday, his normal day, starting at 8AM. He was working until 1 AM because of this problem, which was supposedly resolved. He got up at his normal 5 AM so that he could take the kids to school since SB had a very early ortho appointment. He was at work by 9 and just emailed me to tell me that another system crashed. The same type of thing they worked on yesterday, just a different system. The repair person will be back again this afternoon and Mark will be there until who knows when trying to solve this problem. The resident companies are screaming, as they have a right to, but really, it's kind of like your car. You never know when something will go wrong and even if you have it in the repair shop on Monday there's no guarantee that something won't go wrong on Tuesday. My hubby is exhausted and completely stressed out.

Melt Down #2

Not a good day! Mark is having some problems at work involving an uncooperative lighting system and an irate resident theater company. So irate is this company that Mark needs to stay at work while someone from another state flies in and looks at the system. Of course, that person could not arrive until 5 PM. All fine and dandy, these things happen occasionally and when you're the boss, you're the one who needs to deal with making everyone happy. Except...Tonight is the Cub Scout Halloween party. And Obi-Wan was eagerly anticipating attending with his daddy. Both girls have dance, so me taking him was not an option. Grandpa to the rescue, once again. This still does not make the boy happy. He really wanted his daddy...

Your Attention Please

Her royal highness, The Princess, has a new favorite color. She is now enamored of light blue. How this happened, I have no idea, but it really caused some distress this morning when she "didn't have anything to wear" and dissolved on the ground in a puddle of tears. Apparently I didn't update her wardrobe quickly enough for her!

Happy Monday!

As if Monday is ever really happy!lol! Everyone has such a hard time getting up on Mondays!

Lots to get done this week. My cousin's wedding is on Saturday and I'm so looking forward to that! The younger kids are SO excited. They are counting down the days. The youngest two have never been to a wedding! SB has been a flower girl once and went to a wedding as an infant since it was out of town and she was still nursing. The teenager has been in a couple of weddings.
This should be great fun though. I don't get to see my extended family very often and they are all a hoot, plus my brother is going as well and since he's one of the funniest people I know, we're bound to have a grand time! I even have a new pretty outfit to wear! Woohoo!

I finally finished cutting the fabric for the Princess' costume. My plan is to get it finished by the middle of the week so I can work on SB's. Both costumes involve slippery satin, which I've not sewn much of, and cutting it was difficult, but at least it's a costume and not something fancier so if I make a few mistakes it's not the end of the world!

Hope you all have a splendid week!

Exhausted!

My cousin is getting married next week. My little cousin who was a flower girl in my wedding. Makes me feel really old! Anyway, I took SB shopping for a new dress to wear to the wedding. 6 hours of shopping. Why? Because apparently, "tween" girls don't wear dresses any more! We looked at so many stores. She really wanted a dress, but the only thing we found was black with sequins. Really! At some of the stores, (Mervyn's, Justice, Kmart(really we were DESPERATE at this point!!!) they didn't have dresses at all for her age. Or Skirts! Only pants. I am so not kidding. We searched everywhere. We finally found, on our second trip to Kohl's, a skirt and blouse she could live with. So then we needed to find shoes. No luck. Her feet are as big as mine, but the women's styles are too old for her and the junior styles are too slutty!lol! The heels on these shoes! Why cane not dress our daughters in clothing that is appropriate, but pretty? I mean some of the stuff we saw? Not going on my daughter! So, we still need shoes because it had been 6 hours at this point and we were both DONE! Did I mention I found my dress in about 15 minutes the other day? As well as a dress for the Princess? Who knew this would be so hard???

Happy Birthday!!!

It's my hubby's 39th birthday today! In a freak coincidence, he actually is not working today either and three of the four kiddos are out of school. I'm headed over to get him some of his favorite bagels in a little bit. We might go to lunch and a movie and then I'm making his very favorite dinner of my home made chili and cornbread and oatmeal cookies for dessert! Should be a fun day!

Hope you all have a lovely day as well!

Hmmm...

Saw my doctor today. He didn't really have any answers. My thyroid levels are good, so the medication is doing it's job. He thinks it may be stress related. My other doctor thinks it might be hormonal, like maybe I'm experiencing some symptoms of perimenopause. I'm a little on the young side, but it sort of makes sense since one of the things that happened to me every time I had a baby and nursed was that I lost a ton of hair. Since that was hormone related, it makes sense that this might be as well. I'm going to give it a bit and see if making some other changes in my life might help a bit.

4 day weekend for the younger kids! Teacher in-service today and Columbus Day on Monday. Woohoo! The teenager gets a week long fall break in a couple of weeks, so don't worry about him!

We're having a family night tonight and then Mark and I are hiking tomorrow and having a date tomorrow night. I also need to shop for his birthday present, groceries, fabric for two costumes, etc. Sunday is church and then dinner with Mark's family for his birthday. Monday is his actual birthday and since he didn't have any meetings on his schedule and the kids were out of school and I was off of work, he decided to take the day off! Woohoo!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Bah

I feel terrible. I'm an emotional wreck, my hair is falling out so fast I can see it thinning(and I have a TON of hair), I'm PMSing in a way I haven't since before I went on my meds. I have no energy, haven't worked out, want to cry and cry and cry.
I am seeing my doctor tomorrow, but it doesn't feel soon enough.

Hallelujah!

I finished the last of the blocks for the quilt! I still have a lot of work to do on it, but the blocks are done! Now I can work on Halloween costumes without too much guilt!

In other news, I'm gonna go stir up some trouble on Thursday night. I'm going somewhere where I am definitely not wanted for the sole purpose of gathering information. This is a huge thing for me as I am very sensitive and hate it when anyone is mad at me/doesn't like me, etc. I'm sure I'll be crying by the end of the night, but I feel compelled to check things out. Trust me when I say many of the other people who might be in attendance at this event will feel their stomachs drop when I walk in the room. They deserve to.

I am so tired. I really need to get some answers from my doctor, but I have now left 3 messages and not gotten a call back. I love my doctor, but the office staff is driving me crazy. My next step, if I don't hear from them tomorrow is just to go get my blood drawn anyway (they gave me the order for November at my last visit). When they get the results they will have to call. I am honestly losing handfuls of hair everytime I shower, brush my hair, even run my fingers through it. It's very reminiscent of what happened to me each time I had a baby. I also am so fatigued some days that I can barely function. I feel like I'm going insane. If there's not a problem with my meds, then there is something else going on and I need to know what it is...
